Wg 10 Pay Scale 2021 – The Federal Wage System (FWS) was developed to make sure that the pay of Federal blue-collar workers was up to par with the prevailing rates used by the private sector in each local wage location.
Prior to the arrival of FWS, no central authority existed for establishing wage equity for Federal craft, trade, and laboring workers. President Johnson then ordered the former Civil Service Commission in 1965 to deal with both labor organizations and Federal companies to study the different agency systems and combine them into a single, just, and sensible wage system.
